Athens
- capital of Greece
- hot and dry summers
- men were considered citizens, women were not
- men did the shopping, had education, and made rules
- women were housewife's
- they cooked, cleaned
- women would wear make-up cause they were so pale
- boys had private tutors
- childhood was short for girl they were married at the age 13
- the largest building in Athens was the Parathion
Sparta
- was located on the Southern en don the point of Equator River
- really relied on agriculture just like Sparta
- dependent on farming
- used irony money, because it was harder to steal
- boys leave home at age 7 to start training for the professional army
- women in Sparta did receive education, and physical things like gymnastics for fun
- they were decedents
Pelopensaina war
- April 431 BC. 404
- war against Sparta and Athens. lasted 27 years
- ships brought people and that started the plague,  killed 2/3 of the population including Paraclies
- the plague spread very quickly and was deadly
